APPROACH

Good design is transformative. It is empowering to improve everyday spaces that enhance our daily lives. This is the perspective that I bring to each new project, including the design and renovation of my own house in Melrose, MA.

Framing a view to the landscape, reinforcing clean volumes, developing a connection between rooms that didn’t previously exist, and solving functional challenges when space is tight – are all design principles that I use to improve the quality of the built environment.  Many design concepts spring from the same origin: How can we use what already exists a little differently so that it makes life easier, more inspired, more meaningful, and the spaces more beautiful?

In addition to 9 years of residential work, I have 10 years of experience working as an architect on large commercial, institutional, and master planning projects. My diverse design experience allows me to bring a fresh approach to residential design while maintaining a sensitivity to client’s needs and the local context.
